Xiaoyang Meng (B. 2000, China) is an installation and moving-image artist. She holds a BA in Digital Media Art from Shandong University of Finance and Economics and an MA from the Royal College of Art (RCA). Rooted in immediate, present-moment experiences, her practice has evolved from early micro-observations of urban memory and the perception of time into a post-anthropocentric perspective inspired by the concept of multi-species egalitarianism.

M firmly believes that "artworks naturally emerge from the present experience." Guided by the principle that the freedom of the medium must serve the underlying concept, she fluidly reconstructs narratives across installations, moving images, and cross-disciplinary materials. In the physical realm, her works traverse sea, land, and air, acting as a vertical cross-section cutting into the Earth as a complex, living entity.

She possesses a keen eye for the intrigue and absurdity hidden within everyday details: whether giving voice to triploid oysters, fusing the random flow of escalator crowds with the mechanical rhythms of music boxes, or linking all things into fractal formations via satellite data. Navigating between order and absurdity, humanity and the more-than-human world, M constructs a contemporary site of egalitarian symbiosis.
